discussion about positive and negative influence of professional athletes on young people
discussion about positive and negative influence of professional athletes on young people MQ1X9
While some people think that big sporters have a positive influence on young people, another people believe that their effect on these young people is negative.
First of all, the proponents of negative influence of athletes believe that they increase the insecurity of young people about themselves. For example, a young person can see the perfect body of an athlete and feel bad about their body. So, in result of comparing themselves with this professional athlete, their confidence will decrease. Second, they think that when young people adore a person, and find them successful, they usually try to do everything their legend do, and they may harm themselves by imitating them. Take a young boy as an example who wants to be exactly like his legend and he put himself on pressure by doing more exercises which are not appropriate for his age, or he can be in danger by receiving instructors from an unprofessional instructor.
The second group believes that athletes have positive influences based on two reasons. First, they think that athletes encourage young people to be hard work. they show them if they want to achieve something brilliant, they should work hard and try their best to get their goals. For example, if they want to become fit, they must spend hours at a gym and do exercise. Second, athletes can help young people on monitoring their diet. In a world that they have less movement and they use mobile phones and laptops, they must receive foods with less calories to be healthy. So, they can follow the instructions of athletes about what they can choose to eat.
To conclude, I tend to the side with the second group. I believe that the positive influence of athletes on young people is much more than their negative effects on young people.
