According to me, open designs help to create a positive and friendly environment as well as will benefit the process of team building. This essay will describe various drawbacks and benefits related to open workstations. Over the past decades, the aesthetics of workplaces have changed overall. Moreover, the boring plain color walls have been replaced by modern temporary glass infrastructure. The transparent glass design helps to decrease the energy consumption because of the continuous light embedded through various sources. In addition, it helps to build the bond between the team and the employees being always in touch with each other, also it innovates them to brainstorm ideas through the various arts and motivating slogans and posters framed over the glass walls. A recent study conducted at Trinity college; Londan provides the facts that most of the workers prefer to operate in an open space rather locked under close rooms. Hence, these are the various advantages of having open-space design workplace. On the other hand, plenty of staff members find it discomforting, due to the use of transparent barrier at workstation. Furthermore, female employees complain it as a breach of personal space and harder to concentrate on their daily tasks. In spite the fact that it creates a friendly environment, it is difficult to focus because of the various interruption happening in the background area. For instance, on intervals the opening and closing chaos of the door breaks the focus link for the employees.
