Countries should invite foreign companies to open branches in their shores. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Economic crisis is one of the biggest problems of the society. Thus, it is recommended that nations must allow international investors to operate their businesses in their country. I fully agree with this issue as in my opinion, it will be helpful for economies. This essay aims to elaborate the issue further. To begin with, financial problems and negative growth forces government to solicit aids from foreign investors. To many businesses this is advantageous because it brings benefits especially in the local people in various ways. First and foremost, it generates employment. Unemployment is one of the main contributors of poverty and this is mainly due to a smaller number of jobs available. If foreign companies are available, necessarily they will hire locals who are capable to fill in their vacancies. As a result, this decreases the unemployment rate. Best example are the BPO companies that are usually owned by international businessmen that are operating in developing countries. They provide many descent jobs to locals and most of the time provides high wages. Secondly, it can make the economic sector more competitive. With the presence of international companies co existing with the local companies, the local businesses are forced to be productive and match a certain standard and as the competition at sectors are high, means they can produce more jobs and acquire more money. They can also produce a variety of products that can be accessed and people will have more options to choose from. Lastly, since foreign companies are known to be more advance when it comes to their business planning and strategies, if local employers will engage or allow collaborations with them, resident businessmen can create more opportunities for citizens and provide a wider education especially to start-up companies and this can encourage more participants all with the same goals of moving forward and stabilize a high earning business. To conclude, allowing foreign companies to operate their businesses internationally is beneficial to a nation’s economy especially in third world countries as they not only solve the biggest problem which is the unemployment, but they also help people to be more open minded and letting people to live a descent life.
