Childhood obesity is becoming a serious problem in many countries. Explain the main causes and effects of this problem, and suggest some possible solutions. qndMG
An important problem which many countries are facing is the increasing number of overweight children. The following essay will analyze some major causes, and the consequences and measure possible solutions to the problem. There are many contributing factors to children getting fatter. One main reason why so many children all over the world are overweight is the lack of training. To be specific, they become lazier to exercise and go to the gym to contribute to their obesity rate. Instead of focusing on controlling their weight, kids are more attractive to play computer games, chat on the net, or surf social media. Another cause is that the number of fast-food stores is increased dramatically. Scientists have proved by recent research that eating junk food like hamburgers, chips or drinking sugary soft drinks causes some diseases which affect mental health, especially overweight. In addition, the effects of obesity on children are significantly dangerous. It is believed that they will become overweight, unhealthy, and unfit. Another effect is that children might have a higher risk of diseases, for instance, heart disease or cancer. These effects will let them burden on hospitals in the future and cost a huge amount of money to their parents. Fortunately, there are several actions to solve this problem. To begin with, children should remind themself to limit eating fast foods, playing video games, or doing more exercise. For instance, having junk food twice a month and going for a run every day is the best way to keep our health in the most suitable condition. It is also the parent’s and schools’ responsibility to teach them about the dangerous effect that obesity might cause, so they will aware and change themself to a better version. Finally, the government should release some strict rules focusing on advertising fast food on TV or suggest some more healthy food for citizens. To sum up, children becoming overweight is a serious problem for every country. It has some causes, and effects; however, it still has some solutions. Both individuals and the government have the same important role to solve this mission.
