A fracture is a bone that has been broken. There are two types of fractures, open and closed. If someone has a fracture, follow these steps to make them get the best help possible.
Firstly, call for emergency help if the person is not breathing, or if the injury is in the head, back, or neck. If their limps are in an unusual position. if they are bleeding heavily. If the bone has come through the skin. or if their fingers or toes are blue.
Secondly, stop the bleeding. Apply pressure to the bleeding, but not the fractured bone. Thirdly, move the person as little as possible. Fourthly, if the injury is to an arm or a leg stop the injured place from moving, and never try to push the bone back. Fifthly, use ice to help reduce the pain, and control the swelling. Sixthly, make the patient as comfortable as possible, and get medical advice as soon as possible.
Remember, fractured bones might be shocking to the patient، so always go easy on them، and try to prevent them from moving.
