Only move them if they are in danger. The next step If the injury is to an arm or leg, stop the injured area from moving. You can do this using a splint (a piece of wood or plastic, a book. Fifth, Use ice to control the swelling and to help reduce the pain. Sixth, Remember that the patient may be suffering from shock. If they feel faint or they are having difficulty breathing, lay them down carefully. When you have performed these steps, get medical advice as soon as possible.
