Alternative energy souce that use the natural power of the wind, waves and sun are too expensive and complicated to replace the coal, oil and gas that we use to power our cities and transport. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It is said that wind, wave and solar power are the ultimate answer to the question of alternative souces of energy. However, some people argue that these souces of energy can not be the replacement of fossil fuels to power our cities and transport because of their high cost and complication. In my opinion, I totally disagree with this idea.
On the one hand, the installtion of a solar plant, a wind farm or a wave farm is costly. This is because it requires high-tech equipments as well as large spaces. For instance, in order for a solar plant to be set up, a spacious area with a great amount of sunlight on a regular basis is needed, which means this energy system can only be built in certain places and the amount of energy produced is not sufficient for every part of the world. Moreover, this kind of advanced system require staffs with high technological skills to run, therefore, it can not be applied for underdeveloped countries.
On the other hand, despite the high expense of installation and the complexity of operation, it is imperative that we gradually turn to these alternative sources of energy for some reasons. Firstly, fossil fuels such as coal, oil and gas will soon run out as they are non-renewable energy. Therefore, renewable souces of energy such as solar power and wind power will be the solution to the problem of energy shortage. Secondly, convenient as fossil fuels are, they bring detrimental consequences to both the environment and humans. It is common knowledge that the use of coal, oil and gas to generate energy contribute to the alarming rate of increase in the green house emissions, which causes climate change, and in the worst case, makes the earth unhabitable. Furthermore, this is also the answer to the increase in the number of people suffering from fatal diseases such as cancer.
By way of conclusion, it seems to me that there are no viable reasons to prevent alternative souces of energy from being utilized in every part of the world. Concerted efforts of people worldwide are needed to facilitate the process of bringing renewable souces of energy to each countries around the world.
