Five Avenue, a cluster of western villas, is located in the south of the downtown of Tianjin, including Machang Avenue, Munan Avenue, Dali Avenue, Changde Avenue, Chongqing Avenue and Chengdu Avenue.
It was a Tuesday, my parents and I made a quick decision, and it was going to Tianjin for a trip. Tianjin seems to be very familiar, but to some degree not really, I have only been to Tianjin once. The two-hour drive past before I even finish listening to the songs I wanted to listen. The urban style I very developed and showing the vigor and fashion of the city. As soon as we arrived our hotel, we settled down in an hour, and then head right to the Five Avenue. I was not aware of the intense sunlight, so I decided to take a taxi rather by walking and getting burn under the sun. I have no idea if it is my illusion, people from Tianjin loves to communicate with each other, and the taxi driver is no exception. He started asking quietly where we are heading to, after he knew that we are going to the Five Avenue, this talkative man started to act like a tour guide. One by one, explaining every building he knows.
We arrived, and saw some carriages on the side, those carriages carrying a lot of tourists are slowly marching in the Avenue. It is the best way to travel and navigate through this place with countless of buildings from different countries. I chose a lower spot and started sightseeing and enjoying the view of those unique and historic buildings. These symbolize the history in the past hundred years, and this former residence of the celebrities should be kept. I was actually very disappointed when I heard the tour guide referring to one of the former leaders once said that these historical buildings should be all destroyed. When I heard this, I am really confused why these should not preserve just like other historical buildings. History is not a part, or a story. History is made of thousands of stories, and it should not be segmented or incomplete, or else, it is not a history in a true sense. These are not only culture for the western countries, but they also happened in Tianjin and they are a part of Tianjin and they should not be forgotten.
I have been to a lot of different places, but this is memorable and unforgettable.
