The graded school system is usually divided into primary, intermediate and secondary grades, and provided the education for 12 years. Most of the scholars begin school at the age of six.
The Lactuar doubts the efficiency of the system and elaborates on that by giving the simple explanation that there are differences between individuals. He states that some of the kids are simply not mature enough by the the age of six, while others are ready to school even earlier but have to wait. The differences are getting even greater between girls and boys at the intermediate grades.
Anoter problem he mentions is the graded-level standarts, which relay on testing. Not all scholars consuming knowledge at the same way and speed. Thus, some students have to learn subjects they already know, simply because it is in the curriculum.
Studies shows that repeating a calendar year, just because one unlearned subject, causes a high dropping rate among the scholars who were week at the first place.
