Medical care an advantage or disadvantage?

Medical care an advantage or disadvantage? g0g
The scientific-technological advances of the last decades have had an enormous impact on improving the quantity and quality of life of many patients, but at the same time they have generated numerous problems with very negative consequences, which we must also know and face. A good part of these problems of control in one way or another of the quality of health care. The quality of health care has become a fundamental requirement of every health service. Despite the extraordinary scientific and technological development achieved in recent decades, the complexity of health services has led to an increase in medical errors with very negative consequences on morbidity, mortality, and costs of care. Different models of quality of care have emerged. However, these are generally implemented as administrative and managerial processes, and far removed from the reality of the person who must use them. Health care must be perceived not only as a managerial medical problem, but also as a moral problem and, as such, be supported by an education in values that guarantees the active participation of all the actors of the system, being excellence, solidarity and professionalism core values. Life expectancy around the world has been increasing continuously for more than half a century. In Mexico, while in 1950 life expectancy did not exceed 50 years of age, in 2017 it is more than 70 years, and it is expected that in the coming decades it will reach 100 years of life. If in the next 100 years people continue to stop working at the age of 60 - 65, they could experience a retirement of more than 40 years, when previously it was expected that a person's retirement would not exceed 10 or 15 years. By improving medical care, a country will have fewer death cases caused by fatal diseases. With the advancement in technology, there are vaccines for many fatal diseases. One of the most significant aspects lies in the enormous difference between current scientific knowledge and the application of that knowledge in clinical practice. Knowledge has grown in a truly extraordinary way, but it is largely not applied in daily medical practice. As a result, many patients do not receive the treatments that they should receive and sometimes receive treatments whose benefit has not been demonstrated.
