Universities and colleges are now offering qualifications through distance learning from the internet rather than the teachers in the classroom.Do you think the advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantages?

The internet has huge benefits on education in modern society. Nowadays universities and colleges have started online courses towards higher education. From my point of view, while it has some negative impacts, benefits are much more important. On the one hand, nobody can deny the convenience of online courses at the university. The first reason for the benefit of this is time-saving. Travelling to school does not seem to be an issue for students living nearby but pupils who travel long distances like 2 or 4 hours commuting to schools or colleges or universities often face difficulty to manage time. So, by applying for online courses, students are encouraged to the suitable courses without worrying about the distances. Additionally, learning from online is much more flexible time to study. Pupils can maintain their schedule and after finishing the class they feel relax. For example, learners can acquire extensive knowledge and complete their lessons by maintaining the schedule. On the other hand, there are many negative influences of online learning. First of all, the decrease of communication and team-working skill. Students who prefer to study through the internet without interacting with other students tend to lose the communication skill and team-working skill. These soft skills can only be practiced when people actually talk to each other in person. Apart from that, everyone has not the same ability to self-study, which makes the result can differ among the students. For instance, lazy students just complete their lessons but can not focus that much, which causes failure of them. In conclusion, studying by online courses leads to the development of education, which is beneficial for students. However, it has also some negative impacts but I think the advantages are essential.
