The Santa Luzia Garden - fine day

The Santa Luzia Garden has a contemporary landscape architecture, with an area of 13, 600m². It is a space that still shows traces of the influence of a saccharine factory with the old factory chimney and some machinery. Here we can identify five different zones: Laurissilva Garden, Socalcos Garden, Water Garden, Tropical Garden and the Amphitheater Garden. It has two playgrounds with swings, one with a maze to play hide and seek. This garden dates from the year of 2004. This garden it is well known by local population because it is a pleasant place to meet new people and to have a great time. In fact, here we can do different activities like walking the dog, socializing with other people who also bring their dogs for a walk, read a book, play football with friends, picnics, among other things. In addition to all this, this garden has a restaurant and on weekends it is customary to hold fairs with live music. At these fairs, homemade bread, cakes and sweets are for sale. Although the garden is not located in downtown Funchal, it is not far. It is just 10 minutes from downtown Funchal. To get to the garden, you can walk on foot or take the bus if you prefer. I definitely recommend the visit to the Santa Luzia Garden for people of any age, because it has several activities that we can do alone or with others. In my opinion, I believe that it is a perfect place to meet someone new and to have for sure a great time. What is more, is that we can do many things for free.
