The reason I want to study this Programme and how it benefits me MXVQe
The dire need for sustainable energy in my country Nigeria is my main reason for applying for this program. As a developing country with large oil reserves, there has been a high reliance on fossil fuels for energy. This has brought forth negative environmental effects and a non-reliable supply of energy. This programme offers me a holistic and indepth knowledge of the complexities of energy and climate. It also offers me practical tools to help combat this national problem. The programme’s focus on green financing and reduction of carbon footprint particularly caught my attention since it remains one of my major interest.
Having joined the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company and working in its Core Engineering Department that deals with Research and Development, I have worked on different design specifications for Climate friendly energy distribution. Completing this program would give me the relevant knowledge, required understanding, skills and tools for generating innovative sustainable energy solutions.
As one who sternly believes that knowledge can and must be improved upon, I believe my research into sustainable energy in developing countries would improve the programme’s depth and help drive future ground-breaking technologies.
