The number of overweight children in developed countries is increasing. Some people think this is due to problems such as the growing number of fast food outlets. Others believe that parents are to blame for not looking after their children's health. To what extent do you agree with these views?

It is a fact that children are more obese these days especially in developed countries. Some people put blame of this problem on parents but in my opinion, fast and junk foods are the root cause of stoutness. In this modern age, mostly parents are working day and night to feed their children. Although they encounter some difficulties in taking out time to properly look after their young ones but it’s not the incitement of the issue. Parent’s negligence does not have to do anything with a child’s obesity. This kind of mindset diverge the attention from the core matter which needs to be addressed intelligently. The infectious trend of eating fast foods leads to severe problems and being “over-weight” is one of them. These junk meals contain high content of carbohydrates and fats which take a bulk of time to digest and burn out. One thing is also linked to it and that is not having any outdoor activity and enough workout, it also adds the fuel into fire. An unhealthy person cannot perform enthusiastically in curricular as well as in extra-curricular activities. Children these days do not pay attention to healthy eating routines. Proper diet and required calories intake can lead to a healthy body build up which not only make them fit but also boost up a person’s mental abilities. To make a conclusive statement, I would suggest that there is a need to have a proper diet plan in this regard and children should be encouraged to take part in healthy outdoor games in order to remain fit and active.
