The map illustrates the changes at Queen Mary hospital in 1960, 1980 and 2000.
Overall, the location and area confined for hospital remained the same during the four years. Moreover, the car park area reduced to almost half of its size from 1980 to 2020.
In 1960, the Hospital was built close to the shopping center. The area behind the Hospital was left for parking cars. And, the area behind the shopping center was occupied by Farmland.
In 1980, the Shopping center was replaced with a Cancer center and Pharmacy right beside the Hospital. Similarly, a Nursing school was introduced in place of the Farmland. The car park and Hospital remained intact in 1980.
In addition, in 2000 the Cancer center went under a drastic transformation and increased largely in size. As a result of this, the Nursing school and Car park downsized to half of their initial size.
