The decision was made base on the results of a vote made in the International Astronomical Union Conference, where less than 10% of the potential astronomers all around the world vote, because there was no way to have access to the votation without been in the conference, which altered the possible outcome and casts doubt on whether the decision to reclassify Pluto is a new scientific discovery as it is stated in the reading passage. In addition, a lot of people outside of the astronomy community are disappointed with the decision, which differs from what is established in the reading passage, which assures that the population in general is satisfied with the decision with the exception of Pluto lovers.
