The idea of going abroad for university study is an exciting prospect for many people. But while it may offer some advantages, it is probably better to stay home because of the difficulties a student inevitably encounters living and studying in a different culture. Do you agree or disagree?

Studying abroad as an international student is a two-sided coin. Advantages and disadvantages of studying in another country is highly-debatable. However, my personal point of view is studying in a different country is an incredible experience, especially for a university student. Before I preset my opinion regarding this issue, I would like to approach this issue through several examples. Beginning with positive aspects of this issue, one could say that living in different culture gives a new perspective of life to the students. They can learn a new language, have an unusual living experience. Understanding of different cultures removes the barriers between the different nationalities. Studying in abroad is even better if these students are surrounded by the students who are from different nationalities. By living in another culture, the students will be adapted to the new circumstances, therefore the plasticicity of their brains will be altered. In this way, their emphatsising skill and awareness to the differencies will be increased. On the other hand, they willl build new friendships in all around the world which inspires people to visit other foreign countries. However, no one could argue that studying abroad aparts the students from their home. This is one of the major difficulties that international students are faced with, unless they do not have strong relationship with their families. Although, most of the students miss their families, friends and their routine back at their countries. This negative aspect becomes even worse if the international students can’t socialise with other people enough. I believe in studying abroad will contribute a lot to students’ lifes. Since I am studying in abroad as well, based on my experiences I highly recommend this at least for a short time and I encourange other people who has doubt about this as much as I can. My personal advice to the students who are undetermined about stayin away from their own culture is to avoid being homesick international students can spend time together with other international students. Thus, they will have friends who are going through the similar moods. Therefore, the sense of loneliness will be felt less and less. To sum up, I tried to prove my point by weighing the positive and negatibe aspects of this issue at hand. I support the idea of the university student are need to be encouraged to attend to exchange programs and or become an international student because I believe by this way, these students will experience a real life, learn how to deal with other cultures and daily problems in a foreign country. Fort his reason the students who are studied in abroad will become more independent and have wide range of idea for topics.
