The Human Bodily Systems ch1
The Human Bodily Systems ch1 e1NnA
The organs in the human body often cooperate functionally to form integrated systems, as the number of body systems is eleven major organ systems.
These organs are: skin, skeletal, muscular, nervous, endocrine, cardiovascular, immune, respiratory, digestive, urinary, and reproductive systems.
All organs of males and females are similar, but differ only in the reproductive system.
After identifying the number of human body systems, know the nature of the functions of the body systems, and the most important information about them:
1. Respiratory system
The respiratory organs are the nasal passages, the lungs, and the trachea, which carries air between the nasal passages and the lungs.
The main function of the respiratory system is to deliver oxygen to the blood.
2. Skeletal Apparatus
The skeletal system consists of bones, joints, and teeth. The bones of the skeleton are connected to tendons, ligaments, and cartilage, whose function is integrated to support the body and give it an external shape, as well as enabling the body to move.
Skeletal bones also protect internal organs, store calcium that the body needs, and produce red and white blood cells.
3. Digestive system
The digestive system breaks down food into molecules that the body can use, and food travels through the digestive system that begins in the mouth, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, and even the anus.
The digestive system also includes the liver, located near the stomach in the abdominal cavity, which contributes to the digestion of fats by secreting bile, the gallbladder, and the pancreas.
^Liver disease
The liver is necessary to digest food and eliminate toxic substances from the body. When the liver is affected by a disease, its ability to perform metabolic, detoxification, and storage functions is affected.
Symptoms:
• Stomach pain and swelling.
• Swelling of the legs and ankles.
• Itchy skin.
• The color of urine and stool becomes dark.
• Constant fatigue.
treatment options:
• Lifestyle modifications, such as avoiding alcohol or losing weight, can provide relief in the early stages.
• Other liver problems can be treated with medication or surgery.
