The chart gives an overview of trends of individuals consuming five kinds of sweetener availability(Total, Refined cane and beet sugars, Corn sweeteners, Honey and Edible syrups) in U. S. between 1966 and 2012. Overall, it can be seen that the number of Total and Corn sweeteners had increased, whereas Refined cane and beet sugars had decreased, and Honey Edible syrups remained constant. As can be seen from this chart, there is a similar trend of per person using sweeteners (the number) of Honey and Edible syrups. Between 1966 and 2011, the number of these two sweeteners remained unchanged at less than 10 pound, although the number of Honey were always more than the Edible syrups. There is a total different trend of sweeteners availability from Refined cane and beet sugars and Corn sweeteners. The number of Refined cane and beet sugars experienced a significant decline from 100 pound to 60 pound between 1966 and 1986, whereas Corn sweeteners increased from amount 15 pound to 60 pound. Since 1986, the figure of Refined cane and beet sugars stayed constant at 60 pound, while Corn sweeteners experienced a decrease after reaching the peak (80 pound) in 1998. The number of total sweeteners availability experienced a rise from the largest number of the initial year-over 130 pound, to 160 pound in 2001, and than a slight decrease can be detected for the following 10 years until 2011.
