The government is spending a lot of money to discover life on other planets. Some people think that government is wasting money and should spend more money addressing the problems of public. 0yL23
Throughout the history of mankind, Universe has always been a center of attraction and so does life on another planets. Does it worth to spend millions of dollars to explore extra territorial life than solving the local's problems? I partially agree that public money should be spend on natives first than on any other cause, as its contrary side can not be ignored as well. Let us discuss both the aspects in the coming paragraphs.
To begin with, space exploration is the most expensive activity and it will not be shocking if it do not yield any results. Instead of spending a lots of public money on this, people, who are the topmost priority of any nation, should be provided with best healthcare, educational and social security facilities so that peace and progress could prevail in the world. To illustrate, ignoring plights of locals can not only destablize the country politically but also bring anarchy to the state.
Apart from above, the success of industrial revolution was at the cost of environment degradation. Initially, its effects were not visible but now a days we could see it in the form of climate change, green house effect, pollution-air, water, soil etc. A section of society believes that our priority should be to save what we have i. e. mother earth than polluting it and finding a new place to live.
On the contrary, becoming a multi planet species is the future and spending money to realize it is not wastage. Exploring life on the other planet, is to save human existence in case of any pandemic on the earth. Further, space exploration has a major role in advancement of science and technology. For example, had JF Kennedy, the USA President, not signed Apollo mission, we would not have access to internet.
In my opinion, space exploration should not be on the cost of locals and the environment.
