The chart depicts the overall revenue of the year 2006, 2010 and 2014 that the Tiger reserves achieved thanks to tourism in India.
Looking first at the chart we can see that the highest revenue earned was 1, 760 crore rupees in the Periyar Tiger Reserve, situated in Kerala. Following was the Kanha Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh with a net revenue of 1, 650 rupees. Going towards the eastern part of India, Sunderbans Tiger reserve located in West Bengal produced a revenue of 1, 280 crore rupees while the Kaziranga Tiger Reserve in Assam earned 980 crore rupees.
Similarly, in the northern side of India, the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve in Rajasthan and Corbett Tiger Reserve in Uttrakhand earned a revenue of respectively 830 crore rupees and 1, 470 crore rupees.
Overall, the tiger reserves provide a revenue worth 8000 crore rupees a year, which can be used to provide benefits such as gene pool protection and water conservation and purification.
