The Earth population is reaching unsustainable levels and causing scarcity of natural sources. What are the reasons for overpopulation and what can be done to prevent it? bq6
The number of people on the Earth is increasing dramatically, thereby running out of natural resources, such as water, food and fossil fuels. An attempt will be made to investigate the negative effects of this phenomena and possible solutions to address the problem. It is predicted there the multitude of ramifications of overpopulation to be, one of which is deforestation which is a cause of loss of biodiversity. To meet an increasingly large number of people’s needs of habitation and food, forests which will give their place to residential and agricultural areas being logged will probably happen on larger scale. As a side effect of deforestation diversity of living beings is more likely to wane which means inevitable extinction of more species. One more issue that deserve attention as adverse side of overpopulation is a depletion of natural resources which posterity can be exposed to. But for any attempt to solve the problem, considerable level of starvation and water scarcity are more likely to be experienced in the future. To precede the mentioned results several suggestions can be put forward. First of all, awareness should be raised among people about globally misuse of water and food waste. In todays world, people take food for granted leading to food waste, which can be solved by individual approach. Another beneficial solution might be to recycle as much as possible. To elaborate, instead of manufacture a material and then throw away after single use, it can be made use of several times. For preventing food scarcity, a type of goods which are resilient to different climate changes should be produced. To conclude, while the major adverse effects of overpopulation are deforestation and depletion of resources, the problem can be solved by different methods.
