The effect of the family is major in an individual life wether it is the close one or the extended family. In the past most people lived with their extended family nowadays it is really rare to find it due to the lifestyle we’re experiencing. I personally believe that unfortunately the notion of extended family become less important. I will explain my reasons in this essay.
First of all, in the past most of the family members lived together, having a house was a privilege few people could afford, as a result they all were close to each other, on the other hand and in the present time even young adults at their 20 or even 18 live alone and therefore by time the relationship grows cold between them, in addition nowadays everyone is busy with his life and problems and the time seems to be flying which makes visiting each other tricky. I remember before school we used to travel to my grandparents house in the capital nearly every month and half but once we started studying and our timeline was full we could only afford to visit them twice a year and even there we couldn’t stay long.
Second of all, young people tend to seek freedom and liberty sometimes your relatives can slow you down and stand between you and your vision consistently cause conflict and bad blood, due to it numerous of them avoid their family advices and don’t confront them with their interests so automatically a gap is created between them. A friend of mine had always dreamed to be an engineer, her cousins told her parents that she should be a doctor, she got a great mark she shouldn’t waste it in silly dreams needless to say how devastated was my friend.
In conclusion, many factors have made the extended family less important, but I personally believe that it should be a part of our life, they offer so much and are our blood, however some boundaries must not be crossed
