Overall, it can be seen that almost all aspects tend to decrease except for Violin. Coupled with this, the guitar remained the most popular instruments to learn in all surveyed years.
First of all, a number of students taking guitar and piano lessons seemed to be steadily increasing with the same pattern. Starting in 2005, the number of students taking guitar lessons was 11%, while piano lessons were taken by a lower percentage of students, at 10%. After five years, guitar and piano classes attracted more students with the respective proportions of 20% and 17%. In 2015, both courses saw a significant increase in student enrollment, with 28% of students taking guitar and 25% taking piano lessons.
Aside from that, from 2005 to 2010, the number of students interested in drums did not change at 7%, similar to the violin course also remained at 9%. In 2015, although the percentage of children learning the drums increased to 8%, there was a moderate decline in the number of children participating in violin lessons at only 7%.
