It is important for children to learn the difference between right and wrong. Punishment is necessary to help them learn this distinction. to what extent do you agree or disagree .What sort of punishment should parents and teachers be allowed to use them good behavior

The sense of right and wrong should be taught to children at the very beginning stage of their life. It is thought by some that punishment can necessarily help their children to learn this difference. This maybe true to some extent but I do not completely agree with this opinion. Children are very sensitive in nature and that is why they should be taken care with great love and affection. Parents are their first teacher who teaches them moral behavior and ethics. Then at school they learn it from teachers. There are some kids who are naughty and does not tend to listen to their parents and teachers. In this case minor punishments may help them to become more disciplined and obedient. For example, parents can threaten them to cease their favourite toy or games if they does the same mistake repeatedly. In school teachers can punish them by giving extra homework. This will cause no harm to the kid and instead it will help them to rectify. But punishments should be given to a certain limit keeping some factors in consideration like it may not cause any physical or mental torture to the kid. Sometimes parents or teachers crosses this limit and it causes a huge emotional damage to the child. A research shows that aggressive behavior with children can never help them become a good human. It only deteriorates the kid's behavior and lacks his mental growth. That is why parents and teachers should be really thoughtful about the type of punishment they are choosing for their children. To conclude, it is the duty of parents and teachers to make kids a better human by giving them proper guidance and knowledge about right and wrong and take every steps in this process cautiously.
