The claim that animals have rights has been the subject of much debate since the 1970s. Are zoos helping or hurting our animals? Should zoos be banned? Do you agree or disagree?

The claim that zoos should be prohibited because animals have rights has become an integral part of the rising debate in the present world. While proponents of the argument are in favour, the opponents are completely against the relevance of this argument. In my opinion the declaration that zoos should be banned because animals have rights has more negative impacts than positives around the world.
To commence with, there are a number of arguments in favour of my belief. The most prominent one is that zoos saved endangered species and educated people of their rights. According to the research conducted by Western Sydney University, zoos have become in centres of study about animal behaviour and conservation. Secondly zoos have been playing an essential part of educating people and children about animal’s conservation during their visits.
On the other hand, critics may point at the one of the most significant disadvantages of zoos is that animals in zoos are not closed to live in their habitat. For instance, a survey conducted in the Unites States reveals that most of the zoos have not enough space and adequate facilities which simulated animal’s natural environment.
To conclude, even when there are demerits associated with zoos should be banned because animals have rights, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages and zoos have become a crucial part of promoting animal’s rights. Therefore, efficient use of zoos should be promoted, however, its misuse should be condemned.
