The charts below show the percentage of men and women in different weight groups in England between 1993 and 2002. L0EyR
The two given line graphs depict the proportion of four distinctive weight groups of two genders, namely healthy weight, overweight, obese, and dangerously obese, in England over a decade from 1993 to 2002. A closer look at the graphs highlights the fact that the rates of obesity in England increased, and those were constantly higher in the female population than in the male population. According to the first graph, in 1993, the figure for the healthy weight of English men was a little less than half, around 47%, then decreased in 1998 and 2002 by 7% and 4% to 40% and 36%, respectively. In contrast, the proportion of males, who were overweight, witnessed an upward trend, with about 42% in 1993 increasing to about 47% in 2002. During the assigned period, in the male population, the obesity rate saw a modest increase from 10% to around 15%, while the percentage of dangerously obese stayed constant at about 3%. Compared to the men, the rates of the female population correspondingly witness a similar trend, with about 47%, 32%, 18%, and 3% in four categories in 2002, respectively.
