The given bar chart illustrates how much leisure time is spent by men and women in a typical week in the years 1998 and 1999, according to their employment status. All units are measured in hours. Overall, the men enjoyed more leisure time than women. Furthermore, looking at the employment category, employed people spent less leisure time than unemployed and retired people. Among the employed people, full-timer men had around 50 hours of leisure time, whilst full-timer females had just under 40 hours. In the part-timers category, there were no given measurements for men, but women part-timers had slightly under 40 hours of leisure time. In the unemployed and retired categories, unemployed men had the highest amount of leisure hours, which was around 60. On the contrary, housewives had the least leisure time, which was just above 40 hours. There were no figures given for househusband in this category.
