The number of hours that married men and women work on average each day is shown in the bar graph below. In the beginning, spouses with children who are older work more hours overall than males.
While older women may spend less time working outside the house. To put it another way, married women in the age range of 46 to 64 may not work as much at home as younger women, but overall they put in a little bit more time each day due to the additional paid labor they undertake. After that, we can observe that men's unpaid labour was around twice as high as women's overall. Women in the 25–44 age range put in nearly as many hours indoors as outside.
