Teleworking – When the office meets the private space

First of all Telework is a mode of organization which makes it possible to reduce the costs of the structure of the company, as a result, other expenses such as electricity. During pandemic times, people all over the world were obliged to go on full remote work in order to adapt to the context and avoid human contact. However, when we went back to normal, some employees tend to stay and work from home most if not all the time. In this matter, we shall show the advantages and the inconvenience of such tendency. Majority the employees found such ease using those kind of work, thank to the technologies used that doesn’t affect the performance of employees. Indeed, videoconferences helped doing meetings with many people, it has all necessary tools to ease interactions. Moreover, employees have more free time because they avoid spending time on transportation that can take up to two hours. This can help reducing traffic during rush hours and reduce the negative impact on the environment. It has also a good impact on the firm because they reduce electric bills because they don’t use computers. On the other hand, teleworking merged the professional and private space. Employees need to create a special place that need to be quite in order to not disturb the employee during meetings. However, it’s not always the case, especially when there are kids and babies that cry and scream all times. This can be annoying during meetings and affect the performance. To conclude, although it has many economical advantages such as reducing costs, teleworking affected the private life of employees because they merged it with theprofessional life.
