IN MANY COUNTRIES THESE DAYS, THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE CONTINUING THEIR STUDIES AFTER SCHOOL HAS INCREASED, AND THE RANGE OF COURSES AVAILABLE AT UNIVERSITIES AND COLLEGES HAS ALSO INCREASED.

As per a survey conducted by Harvard Business School, The number of people pursuing education after senior secondary school has increased by 27%. According to this survey, a lot of people have taken graduating from college as an important activity for reasons such as high paying jobs, better credit score, etc. , Education gives us knowledge and provides information to distinguish between good and bad, improves critical thinking and enhances communication skills. Education is an important factor for the development of a country. It gives people an equal opportunity to make a decent living. An educated society evidently reduces illiteracy and promotes gender equality and just society. A well developed nation provides people with an advanced healthcare system and better life-style which will in relation increase the life expectancy of the people. Colleges and universities provide people with bachelor/master degrees in a specific field. These would be essential for people as it helps them gain employment with a good income at qualified workplaces. Imagine, if we didn’t have universities or colleges teaching medicine, would we have reached this level of healthcare? if we didn’t have colleges training engineers, would we ever have reached the moon? I am a firm believer of the education system. I agree that there are a few universities which are trying to scam people into paying exorbitant amounts of tuition fees. However, there are far more reputed universities which have given this world great innovators, scientists, doctors, diplomats and even sportsmen. Hence, I would always say, People wanting to educate themselves is a sign of positive development, not just for the country but for a better world of tomorrow.
