STRESS MANAGEMENT IN THE WORK PLASE

STRESS MANAGEMENT IN THE WORK PLASE pbkQm
Introduction Stress is one of the most costly and significant causes of health problems and psychological distress. Workplace stress is considered to be the most important major stressor. Work stress is thought to have a negative impact not only on the physical and mental health of the individual, but also on the effectiveness of the company. Work stress is one of the illnesses recognized worldwide that affects the health of the company and its employees. Workers who are stressed may be less motivated to work. In addition, stress poses a potential risk to occupational safety and is generally very unproductive and can adversely affect these employees. Workplace and home stress can cause stress. Stress influences for everything Stress is an ordinary response of the body when changes happen. The physical, mental and emotional reactions will be used by the body in response to change. The environment, the body and thoughts are all factors that influence stress (Cleveland Clinic, 2015). Workplace stress is the reaction that individuals have when some types of work demands do not suit their capacities and knowledge, or when work pressures exceed one`s ability to handle it effectively (Semmer, 2007). Stress is the physiological reaction of a person to an external stimulus that causes the "fightorflight" response (Mujtaba and McCartney, 2010; Stress Management, 2020). According to the American Psychological Association (APA), stress is divided into three categories: acute, transient, and chronic. Acute Stress: The most common type is acute stress. This happens in the short term and is not always negative. This is because present stress helps train and stimulate brain development to cope with future stressful situations. Acute stress often arises from recent events or from reactive thinking about upcoming problems and needs. Intermittent Acute Stress: Intermittent acute stress occurs when people are under frequent stress or are faced with frequent stressors and are experiencing crises in their current lives.
