Some people suggest that subjects like art should no longer be taught at schools and there should be more focus on IT, Business, and Economics. with this suggestion? Qd1WX
In current times, education is gradually receiving attention and become an indispensable part of our human lives. Indeed, to my mind, there is now convincing evidence that students should concentrate on academic subjects just as IT, Business, and Economics instead of studying creative arts. I completely disagree with this notion, and I shall examine how research in the negative and the positive will be discussed in that one.
To begin with, it is believed that studying artistic subjects is a waste of time. To be more specific, this subject requires certain meticulousness and special talent that not every student can possess, and not all of them are into it since they find it unnecessary for their future careers. According to the survey, over 40% of students are facing this matter. Consequently, this situation can reduce their general academic results and also may produce negative impacts on their mental health if art is introduced to the main curriculum. Additionally, it is so difficult for them to get a better job with a high salary due to the small number of occupations in this field. By contrast, it seems that STEM subjects are becoming a trend because of the demands of society. For instance, most corporations recruit numerous qualified employees who have expertise in academic fields such as IT, Business, and Economics these days as it keeps a vital key to operation and development in any company. Therefore, pupils can have many opportunities to have successful careers, earn more money as well as increase their living standards. As a result, there are a huge of Asian parents, especially Vietnamese ask their children to focus on studying these subjects in the hope that their child will have a shine future.
Despite the aforementioned arguments, I believe that artistic subjects should be inserted into a syllabus at school. Performing art can enhance adolescents’ imagination. To be more precise, art can help them to be more creative and sharpen their cognitive skills. To give an example, many parents expose their kids to art from an early age such as painting, listening to music, modeling clay, or participating in outdoor physical activities to boost their ability to produce some unique ideas, which turn out to be more dynamic. Hence, the youngsters can realize their potential, and continue to develop and perfect their artistic skills, thereby pursuing their creative career afterwards easily. Besides, when we add art to be educational program at school, pupils can have more opportunities to learn a subject which they are good at. Concurrently, most academic subjects are heavy on specialized knowledge and require high concentration as well as logical thinking, so it is hard for students to consume 100% of their brain in those subjects if they don’t have enough relaxation time. For this reason, artistic subjects should be made compulsory as they balance out the pressure of complicated ones, which make youngsters feel more comfortable coming to school daily thanks to the entertainment activities art brings. The proof is that American education is always ranked among the top in the world, because their syllabus is highly experiential, stimulating thinking development, discovering new things, and creating conditions for students to choose subjects that are suitable for their interests and their abilities as well as encourage pupils to join in many extra curriculum activities. Thus, it is undeniable that students in this country can comprehensive development and become talented people after graduation.
To summarize, I trust that art plays an important role in human lives and it should be focused on with other academic subjects. Therefore, each of us should be aware of this problem and have a better option.
