Should managers have sympathy with their staff? X0lGO
A good manager should have all these qualities such as creativity, honesty, and sympathy, they help the manager to become successful in leading staff members. However, I prefer sympathy as the most valuable in a manager because it helps him to gain trust from staff members, make the work more efficient and be able to boost employees’ productivity.
First of all, the employees tend to trust managers who understand them. A manager with sympathy will care for their staff’s expectations and concerns. He pays attention to his employee’s emotions so he knows how they feel. Therefore, So a sympathetic manager can understand their staff, share with them the joyfullness and be ready to help them when it’s a hard time. It makes employees have more trust on their manager.
Second, when you gained trust from your employees, you can have their cooperation. Your work with your staff will become efficient, they will be ready to assist you as well as you support them in their work. Besides that, understanding each other bring people closer and reduces struggle in the workplace. Your colleagues feel free to share their ideas, express their visions and their problems from work.
And finally, a manager with sympathy will know how to boost his employee’s productivity. With your experience from understand employees’ potential, you can give them the assignment which they can do most efficiently with their ability. Additionally, the manager can create opportunities for his staff to improve and develop their potential skills, help they know what are their strengths or their shortcomings. Therefore, he can guide them to a successful career path.
For those reasons, I believe that sympathy is the most valuable in a manager because it helps him build sustainable relationships, make the work more efficient, and be able to boost the employee’s potential.
