Reusing and repairing damaged items has been decreasing over time and many people are choosing to throw them away instead. Nowadays, we are living in a time where most people get rid of their damaged stuff rather than fixing them and reusing it. This essay will discuss why this phenomenon is happening and how it is affecting our attitude.
Nowadays, many choose to get rid of their stuff for many reasons. Firstly, The cost of fixing a broken item is higher than buying a new one due to the lack of availability of spare parts. For example, Repairing a broken laptop screen costs half the price of a new laptop, which leads to many people choosing to buy a new laptop and throw away the broken one. Another reason is that this generation value time and these days we live in the era of speed where everything is fast and tight to technology. So the idea of waiting for the item to be repaired and fixed is not acceptable for this time. People prefer to have fast and effective solutions which leads them to purchase a new item rather than waiting to have it fixed.
