I WANT TO BECOME AN ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

I will not dream about success I’ll always work for it. As the only child in the family I knew that I have a massive responsibility on my shoulders. My parents knew the value of education and they sent me to one of the prestigious colleges in the country. From a youthful age my heart was in the Science and Technology field. Constantly back in my primary schooling age I have reminded my mother “mother, I want be aDoctor someday”. Whenever I found a chance to explore electrical equipments like toy cars I didn’t hesitate. However as I became more matured and started to grasp the concepts of mathematics hence my ambition of becoming a Doctor took a turn towards engineering. As I mentioned earlier from a youthful age itself I had my eye towards electrical engineering. Furthermore there are crucial reasons. firstly, from the various web searches I came to know that it is fairly easy to find the first job due to the fact that most employers in the electrical field are searching for new blood, with fresh knowledge and at the same time they get young people who they can mold to their own specific needs and make experts out of them. Another reason was that majors like electrical engineering are universal and the knowledge you gained will not be limited to just one country. These are some of the major reasons for me to choose electrical engineering. Apart from those main reasons I could mention the adrenaline that I will face with, the computer knowledge that I will gain, and the interest that will always keep you on track since the subject can never be boring and for the fact that you will be always at the edge. Moreover, I researched this field because I have a high interest in math and science, and I am always interested in how things work and function. I like how engineering is an exact concept. I like precision and accuracy, and how the jobs are hands on and are never repetitive. The pay is good and livable, and you do not have to spend an eternity going to school. This field does require constant thinking, so headaches may occur often. Much math and science needs to Before that, I need to discipline myself with this new lifestyle as this is how a professional engineer should become, because sometimes I am bombarded with so many distractions that will disrupt my mood and concentration. Sometimes when I was indulged in a distraction, it will drag up to 1 hour period (unfortunately it is normally caused by watching drama). Most importantly is how you change those distractions into actions. I need to restrain myself from all unnecessary matters by considering which activities will benefit me more; giving some rates to those actions before doing it is the best selection for now. Besides that I need to constantly learn new things as technology is always changing. Just look at the gap between the release of the two phones by the world’s third-largest mobile phone maker after Samsung and Nokia; Apple – it is not even a year after the release of iPhone 4s, they have already released iPhone 5. Maybe because of the rapid civilisation, proponents of technological determinisms make a strong case for letting self-accelerating technologies to follow their own life cycle. So as an engineer-to-be, I need to keep myself up-to-date with the current technologies – since an engineer needs to have accuracy and vigour. Hopefully, by watching documentaries or educational channels in the television, for instance Mythbuster and Top Gear, they deepen my understandings on how the situation is on the current world. Every human being has their own career aspirations and mine is to be a Electrical engineer, a dream that I held ever since I was in school due to my deep interest in technical fields such as electrical and electronics. Although, electrical engineer is a difficult career to achieve because it have many obstacles and challenges to be met, but I am sure that I am able to make full preparations for the realization of my dreams. Choosing the right career can mean the difference between being satisfied and being disappointed with my life. Many factors can influence the career that I may have for the rest of my life. A decision that I am going to make at the young age of nineteen will have a major impact on the next ten years if not the rest of my life. In order to make the best decision possible for my future I have decided, if not forced, to research a career of interest to me. The two major career choices I have been interested in for the past few years have been engineering and teaching. I have already done researched teaching so I decided to research engineering. There are many different types of engineering so I decided to pick the one most interesting to me. Electrical engineering is the career field I have selected to investigate. Engineering is something my parents have urged me to consider. Since a young kid I have been interested in building things. I use to tell my parents I wanted to be an inventor and build a time machine. Legos were my favorite toy growing up, and I have always been exceptionally good in math. Since my freshmen year in high school I have been interested in becoming a teacher, but during my freshmen year in college I was becoming more and more aware of the amount of money lower level teachers made. Many people were recommending engineering as a possible career option so I decided to look into it. Since I have always found electricity to be cool I decided to learn more about electrical engineering as a future career field.
