There are several effects of opening new commerce in a small city. First of all, economic development. If new companies invest in buildings or new commerces, consequently, companies create new jobs in the city. Because the local businesses have new consumers and increase their sales, they have more money. Additionally, young people don't move to another country for new opportunities, so they grow up in their cities.
The second effect is better infrastructure. When the city grows faster, the city needs to improve communication systems, such as the internet and phone services. In addition, the city needs more roads, highways and road roods for better transportation to new citizens and the population. Therefore it communicates quickly with different locations, so its products expand easily. Finally, the last effect is increasing facilities. New families in the city need schools for their children or new Universities for young people. If the city receives new people or citizens, they require more healthcare services for daily activities because their demand has an expansion. These are different effects of surge investment in a new place.
