NEWS AND MEDIA BOON OR BANE

News has now become a part of our day to day lives. It is either delivered to us in the form of newspaper or is watched by us on the television but, with the enhancement in technology it now also circulated to us through the mode of internet. News helps us to keep in track of what is currently happening in the world, be it the economy of our country, results or dates of elections, the value of our currency, etc. News channels have a significant impact on our lives, they are the ones who cover the activities and events that are happening all over the world. Moreover, because of the goodwill of these news channels people have blind faith towards them and they tend to believe whatever is displayed by them. Whereas, some people think news channels and media nowadays sensationalize and influence people in a negative way. Some of these channels are under the control of central government due to which people think that these channels manipulate the news in the favor of the government, they tweak the story in a way that people perceive that whatever action is taken by the government is the best. In addition to it, there are many complaints that these channels even try to spice up their stories to attract as many people as they can for their personal benefit. Some channels are also held responsible to influence the younger ones negatively which has led to many disputes and strikes. On the other hand, some news channels also try to provoke people which may lead to fights among different religions, races, genders and much more. Overall, I don’t blame that the media is always involved in manipulating people for their own good. On the other hand, I think that we must not make our perception according to what we hear from one place. Instead, we must try to find the true story by verifying it from different sources before making an opinion.
