My journey in learning English started with my parents communicating with me in English. When I was a few months old, my mom and dad chose to start speaking English with me. I started to understand them and began speaking and reading. I became a bookworm and had only one hobby: reading. In other words, I would read everything and anything whenever I had the chance.
I hardly ever spoke English to people other than my parents and my little sister; everyone else spoke to me in Thai. My school's English education was too easy, and I never learned anything from the school's English lessons except grammar rules. I learned how to use correct grammar from my books, but before the school taught me grammar rules, I could never explain why you had to say "an apple, " not "a apple. " Nevertheless, English was still my least favorite and most boring subject of all time; what the teachers taught me was mostly things I already knew.
Although I understood most English words and could speak well, my accent was still not very good until I started grade four. I met a friend named Namoon who had a good accent; she copied the way American people spoke in YouTube videos. It resulted in me trying to imitate her way of speaking, and my accent became much better.
Recently, I met a teacher named Teacher Steve, who is currently teaching me how to write essays. His accent is also very good; I am also trying to mimic him. All in all, my journey in learning English started when I was very young. I have improved and learned new things, but the only thing I still don't get is English grammar rules, which I still cannot describe how I use them until now.
