Maps - Renovations of an art museum

The data illustrates how Petersburg art museum has changed, due to some developments and renovations that took place. Overall, it can be seen from the two maps that the museum, generally increased in size and several new facilities have been appended to the building. Looking at Petersburg museum before the transitions, there used to be three main galleries in total, dedicated to ancient art, modern art, and sculpture. Furthermore, a lobby had been located in the corner of the area as well as two classrooms to the east of the building. However, moving on to the changes that took place afterwards, the third gallery, representing the sculptures is removed and replaced by an outdoor sculpture area, which resulted in the expanding of the other two galleries. Furthermore, the lobby, which was to the southwestern side of the hall, has remained unchanged over the time period. However, one of the classrooms had been knocked down. Moreover, a new cafeteria has been constructed immediately south of the sculpture area.
