With the development of technology, many traditional books in the library which are high cost of maintenance are gradually replaced by online books on the computer. In my opinion, I totally agree with the argument online libraries over public libraries for some reasons.
Firstly, using online sources can reduce the library operation cost and store a huge amount of information that is more performance than traditional libraries. By using websites to store books, they will not use a lot of money for buying a house, bookcases, chairs and tables for a physical library. Storage books online are not limited, but with traditional libraries they have to take money to expand more space for storage. In some countries in Europe, digital libraries are very common and replace physical libraries by the year and maybe in the future, traditional libraries will disappear in these developing countries. But online libraries have a disadvantage is that it can be easily stolen by hackers.
Nextly, with a smartphone or laptop, researchers can easily read a book every time, everywhere instead of going to libraries which can only be open during several hours per day and the cost of hiring a paper book is more expensive than digital book. For people who take full time a day to work or learning and just want to read books whenever they get free time, online libraries are an ideal way for them. Besides, people can easily find their favorite books by searching on websites and it takes around 1 minute instead of going to the library looking for a lot of books in bookcases that take an hour.
In conclusion, I agree that physical libraries will be replaced by digital websites because the cost of maintenance websites are cheaper and more convenient compared with traditional libraries.
