Do you agree or disagree: It’s more important for the government to spend money to build art museums and music performance centers than to build recreational facilities (such as swimming pool and playgrounds)

: It’s more important for the government to spend money to build art museums and music performance centers than to build recreational facilities (such as swimming pool and playgrounds) mjAn8
Needless to say, governments are responsible for the way through which they spend taxes they receive from people. When it comes to the matter of prioritizing different methods of spending it, people are of different ideas as some believe that art take priority while others believe they should give it to recreational facilities, like swimming pools. I subscribe to the first group for many reasons, among which enriching the culture of society and desperate need of that sections for financing are the most conspicuous ones to speak of. To begin with, art plays a pivotal role in the culture of a country, so it should be given the highest priority by governments. There is a famous Persian proverb which states, “Art is the food of soul”, Which emphasizes the importance of art in everyone’s life. To put it in another words, individuals are impressed to a large extent by art works; that is the reason why artists tries to picture great humanitarian values like bravery, sacrifice, and so forth in their works. Furthermore, when people’s mind are more involved in that values, it affects their behavior; consequently, it leads to enrichment of culture. With this in mind, it is crystal clear that the more authorities spend on the arts, the more the culture of a society improves. Another reason for the view is that unlike cultural sections, recreational facilities does not need huge support of government as they attract enough finance from private sector. Gone are the days when youth spend most of their money on museums or movie theaters. In recent decade, youngsters have been attracted in group activities in which they can play with each other, such as game nets, sports, and board games. In my experience, when I was at university, I used to go on trips with my friends. During our trips, we tired our best to see every historical place of the city because it intrigued us the most. On the other hand, when my younger brother goes out with his friends, the only places that makes them pleased is where they can play together. Additionally, this obvious trend has led to building more playgrounds or swimming pool financed by private sector because they know that they yield great benefits owing to their growing visitors. With all this taken into account, one may see that the cultural places are in desperate need of government support in order to survive as their visitors are dwindling. To sum up, I strongly believe that those in power should take special care to support artistic places on the grounds that not only they are beneficial for the culture of society, but they are also in danger of being closed because of financial problems. I think if the government do not give priority to that places they will regret it in the near future.
