As more research on fitness and exercise are being published, more individuals are starting to accept that exercise is beneficial for children and teenagers. Some critics argue that physical education must be compulsory while others believe that it shouldn't be mandatory. This essay will include examples from past experiences and knowledge, however, I strongly believe that sports should be mandatory in all schools across the country. First and foremost, the positive upside associated with exercise and young people is the increased possibility of developing good health. This is because exercising at an earlier stage in a child's life develops a stronger immune system and positive overall health. For example, implementing sports and physical education in a child's life allows improved cardiovascular system, immune system, significantly reduces the chance of diabetes and heart disease. Above all else, such a trend creates a positive and healthy lifestyle for children that can continue in the later stages of their lives. Thus, forcing students to participate in physical education and sport will prove beneficial in both the short and the long run. Secondly, another benefit of such a trend is that it improves mood and mental health which is essential for children and teenagers. The reason is that exercise produces dopamine in the body which triggers a positive mood in the brain and overall improve the mental health of individuals. For instance, a vast majority of students who exercise daily or participate in sports curriculums have been shown to have positive mental health. Thus, the benefit of making physical education and sport a compulsory activity of students is pivotal in their overall mental health. In conclusion, it is believed that sports curriculum and exercise are extremely pivotal in the development of young children. With the aforementioned arguments and examples, I strongly believe that such programs must be made mandatory for all students in all schools. Moreover, by implementing a vast array of sports, students can learn to enjoy having such a healthy lifestyle.
