Internet; The Friend or the Enemy?

Nowadays, internet seems to be the number one topic for discussions. Though it keeps people busy by distracting them from real life problems and has clear negative affects on their social lives, internet's positive influences such as staying in touch with long-distance friends and family and, information accessibility can't be overlooked. Starting off with the bad influences of internet, I can confidently say that it steals our time by keeping us busy with mostly insignificant things such as fun but empty games and intriuging news. This is a big concern for today's society since the development of humanity could take a turn for the worst if time gets spent thoughtlessly. Also, the children's exposure to violance and adult content is considered to be one of the worst sides of the internet. The correct measures should be taken in order to keep children and teens mentally safe. Secondly, I want to touch the good sides of the internet. As a student, I have to admit that, without the help of the internet, I wouldn't be able to reach this much information in such little time in the comfort in my own house. Searching for books in libraries and trying to find the right teachers that can possibly help me out are not my preffered learning techniques. As long as the safe research techniques are known and the informations that are found in different sites are compared and also, the resources are checked to make sure that they are valid, everything must run smoothly. Overall, I think that internet is an important and positive tool whşch is essential for us humans. Although, there are reasonings such as time waste and possible bad influences to younger individuals, on why the internet is the enemy of humanity; the big variety of knowledge it brings into our lives and it's practicality in my life as a student, influences me to think very highly of the internet.
