In some countries, people prefer to rent a house for accommodation, while in other countries people prefer to buy their own house. Does renting a house have more advantages or disadvantages than buying a house?

Choosing an accommodation is often an important decision in people’s life. However, while some people prefer living in a rented house, I strongly believe that owning a house brings more advantages than renting a house. Obviously, hiring a house is advantageous for some certain aspects. Firstly, tenants can change their living location whenever they want. Take, for instance, a businessman, whose job requires moving a lot between several countries annually, will prefer the contemporary accommodations such as a hotel or motel rather than a stationary house. Moreover, there are also numerous people who like the flexibility of renting a place. Secondly, the expenditure of a house is far more expensive than hiring a house, which is not affordable with graduated students or low-income families. There is a truth that the majority of people who have an intermediate income will rent a house with a reasonable price monthly to save money instead of spending a large amount of money on a house and working under the pressure of creditors. On the contrary, owning a house gives people more benefits than renting a living. Firstly, possessing a house assures people long-term accommodation. There is a fact that the house renters always encounter a problem that they probably have to leave suddenly because of many reasons such as conflicts with the host. However, when they own a house, they are free from that problem. Secondly, people can personalize their house according to their style and interest. In comparison with a rented house, in which people are able to change the design, the house owners can install more furniture which is useful and necessary in their life. In conclusion, although the flexibility and reasonable price of rented houses are beneficial for some people, the advantages of owning a house are superior to those of hiring accommodation in certainty and personalization.
