Importance of arts in society
Importance of arts in society 2Kb
Art has existed since the beginning of mankind. Paintings inside caves and hieroglyphics in Egyptian pyramids are reminiscent of ancient cultures and traditions. Sadly, many people do not understand the importance of art in society and disregard its benefits. I, however, do not believe so. Art is a form of belief, expression, and communication.
There are many reasons why art is important for our society. Firstly, art is an expression of our thoughts, desires and intuitions. We see young children engrossed in drawing and colouring. Why? Because for them, it is a gateway of expression. Art, therefore, reflects the natural thought process. Secondly, art is a form of communication. There are thousands of languages in the world and of course, we can’t understand each one of them. Whereas, art needs no language. It is a language that anyone can understand. I firmly believe that it is a universal form of communication that brings everyone together.
Thirdly and most importantly, art is a major factor for attracting tourism. From Louvre Museum to Ajanta Caves, from Mona Lisa to Starry Night; art attracts innumerable people. Tourists from all over the world visit popular destinations to satiate their desire for art. Due to this reason, tourism generates a lot of income for countries. Last but not the least, as mentioned before, art speaks volume about cultures and histories. Not only does it give us an idea about people’s belief, but is also an important tool for studying human behaviour. Hence, I am of the opinion that art forms must be preserved at all costs.
In conclusion, I would like to say that art is a channel of expression that tells stories of our past, present and future. It is a crucial part of society and must be conserved. A world without art is a world without imagination.
