Government and Private Hospitals Physicians by Nationality and Sex for the years 200-2005-2008

The bar chart shows (presents) (illustrates) the number of physicians by nationality and sex in the government and private hospitals for the years 2002, 2005 and 2008. Generally, (overall), as noted from the graph, the number of Bahraini doctors who work in government hospitals is much higher than those who work in private hospitals. The aim of this report is to compare, interpret and analyze the given figures. First of all, according the graph, the number of non-Bahraini female doctors in government hospitals was the lowest among all categories in the years 2000, 2005 and 2008. For example, in the year 2000, there were only 55 non-Bahraini female doctors working in government hospitals in comparison with 278 Bharani female doctors. This low number can be due to that fact that non-Bahraini female doctors are more likely to work in the private sector rather than the government sector as it is usually dominated by Bahraini female doctors instead and also due to the Barbarization policy in the government sector. Nevertheless, it can be noticed from the graph that the number of female Bahraini doctors who worked in the government hospitals in the given three years was much higher than it was in the private sector. In fact, there were only 29 female Bharani doctors working in the private sector in total in all given years. The high number of Bahraini female doctors in the government hospitals might be attributed to many factors like the salary is much higher and the incentives are much better in the government sector including the maternity leaves, maternity hours, and job security.
