There are many different ideas or opinions about the pros and cons of early smartphones used in children. Some people argue that there are many benefits if children use phones early. On the contrary, others believe that they may cope with many toxic impacts on their minds.
On the one hand, there are a variety of reasons why using smartphones for youngsters is valuable. Firstly, children can use smartphones for their studying. For instance, they can discuss with other children conveniently and join some groups about studying on the Internet. In addition, there are many learning apps online so that children can acquire knowledge better. Secondly, because of the Covid-19 situation in a few years, smartphones now are necessary for children. They can use their phones for communication with others, entertainments while they can not go out and always stay at home. Moreover, lots of schools now tend to teach online so children need to learn how to use smartphones for their studying.
On the other hand, using smartphones too soon in children can bring to them numerous problems. The first reason is that they can use smartphones too much for games, youtube, etc. and this may distract their study in school. Also, nowadays lots of children have some health problems, especially eye problems, because of spending too much time on smartphones. Furthermore, there is a large amount of content online so children may contract with some content which is toxic and may harm their minds. Thus, allowing young children to have smartphones may bring lots of bad effects on their mental and physical health.
In conclusion, allowing children to use smartphones soon can make studying easier and more convenient than in the past. However, it also brings lots of negative effects to them.
