Car usage has grown significant over the years PJqpd
Over the past 30 years, car usage and car ownership have seen a significant upward trend, resulting in commuting being made easy for people, however, on other hand, this led to havoc by creating issues such as traffic jams. As a consequence countries around the world are coming up with solutions to address the problem.
Car ownership around the world and in India has increased, and factors that led to growth were primarily due to the easy EMI policy and quick bank loan facilities. This made people take loans and purchases. Another factor that led to usage was fear of coronavirus contraction during the pandemic.
Government should take proper steps to control these. we have seen many governments around the world and in India as a case study of how it can reduce to a minimum. For example, people in Delhi are experiencing traffic problems because of the usage of cars which is not only creating pollution but also a traffic-related problem, so the Delhi government came up solution for this, they introduced an odd and even system by which people of odd number plated cars can move on one day and the following day is for even cars. and also by reducing tariffs on public transport and pooling of cars should be used more often with these traffic jam can be reduced to the lowest level as possibile.
secondly, cycle paths needed to be laid and public awareness of their usage should be increased, as it boosts health and is environmentally friendly
finally, governments should also collect a carbon tax from a citizen who often uses their own mode of transport, so that it can improve public transport and also better management of vehicles
