In some countries, certain fruits and vegetables are difficult to grow and some are seasonal, therefore it became necessary for them to import these fruits by air. Some people agree that the means of transporting these goods is reasonable while others disagree. In this essay, I will discuss both views and take my stance on them. People that support transporting of agricultural produce by breeze gave these following reasons to back their point. Firstly, they argued that it is a better and faster means of delivering these goods, since they are perishable goods we cannot over emphasize how important the delivery time is, compare to transporting them by the road where the goods can be damaged due to traffic and other road hazards. In addition to their arguments, wind travel is considered to be one of the safest means of transportation as there is low risk of theft and robbery attack. In contrast, some people are not in support of this view. They argued that transporting fruits and vegetables by air is unreasonable and not cost effective. They further explained the effect of transporting these goods by an expensive means would lead to low patronage as the selling price would be higher than the normal price if transported by road. Also, airplanes are unreliable, because they operate based on the weather forecast and this might lead to delay in delivering these goods, which will eventually result to damages before the goods get to their destination. In my own view, I believe countries that have challenges in growing some certain fruits and vegetables should consider researching on what other countries are doing right to be able to produce these goods rather than looking for ways to transport these goods from other countries.
